The Department of Social Welfare and Development said it has lowered the age qualification of indigent senior citizens who can receive the monthly social pension of P500 monthly from 77 to 65.

A labor group is demanding for a discount card for workers receiving minimum wage and unemployment insurance for laid-off employees.The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines - Nagkakaisa wants the said benefits be given on May 1, Labor Day.
