To CJ Puno, we say: May your tribe increase!

The Bangsamoro people are solidly behind CJ Puno in his critique of the anti-human rights and repressive war on terror that is mimicked by the Arroyo administration in near lethal doses. The Filipino Muslims are made the usual suspects by insensitive people in the current administration and military leadership in this mindless war. We are only too happy that we have a CJ Puno who rushes to our defense.

Army Bombs Panabo Villages, Residents Outraged

In an effort to save face after Communist guerrillas raided the Davao Prison and Penal Farm, the military dropped more than a dozen bombs on villages in Panabo. When the smoke cleared, only a chicken and a tukmo were found dead. But the residents were furious at the army?s ?grossly wrong and irresponsible? action that put their lives in danger.

Attacks on Leftists in Philippines Continue

MANILA — The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) and the ANAKPAWIS party list group condemned the latest attack on one of its leader in Central Luzon by forces of the military late last night as armed men looking for Ka Joseph Canlas, chairman of the ALyansa ng Magbubukid ng Gitnang Luzon (AMGL), a regional chapter of KMP and ANAKPAWIS-CL coordinator forcibly entered his home in Barangay Balite, Arayat, Pampanga..

Selda Lauds UNHRC for Urging Philippines to Pay Rights Victims

MANILA — The Samahan ng mga Ex-Detainees Laban sa Detensyon at para sa Amnestiya or SELDA, an organization of Human Rights Violations Victims during Martial Law lauds the United Nations Human Rights Committee in its April 3 statement calling on the Philippine government to pay compensation to the 9,539 victims of martial law.

As Asian friend, Japanese civil society is very concerned the fact that substantial numbers of Filipino people have targeted of extrajudicial killing and enforced disappearance.
