Child-advocate groups in Davao City and the region have called on the Commission on Human Rights to investigate the death of Grecil Galacio, the nine-year-old girl from Compostela Valley province who was shot dead by the military last week, claiming that she was a member of the communist New People’s Army. The NPA has denied that Grecil was an NPA and has likewise asked the Unicef to investigate her death. The human-rights group Karapatan, meanwhile, has issued this urgent alert.
