Management Support
Bombo Radyo also vehemently denies the accusation of Adonis that he was not supported by the management in his case. The truth of the matter is Bombo Radyo posted bail for him and his co-accuseds temporary liberty. Bombo Radyo also provided lawyers for their defense. When Adonis was assigned as anchorman of Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro in the early part of 2004, Bombo Radyo allocated funds for his travel, lodging, and food expenses everytime he had to attend the hearings of his case in Davao. In most instances, however, the funds allocated for his travel expenses are left unclaimed in Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro because he said he has his own resources and that food and lodging should not be a problem for him as he has his home and family here in Davao. But Bombo Radyo has never been remised providing him with the support he needed when his case was still on trial. The court processes notifying him about the schedule of the trial were sent to Bombo Davao and he was immediately informed about them. Hence, Adonis claims that the subpoenas did not reached or that he was not provided with funds for his travel expenses are completely false and baseless.
It is worthy to note that his co-accused, Mr. Dan Vicente, the former station manager of Bombo Radyo Gensan, had not missed any of the trials or hearings. The funds allocated to ensure the attendance of Mr. Vicente in court hearings include rental of a private vehicle, allowances for security escorts which the network had to engage due to validated serious threats against him and food allowances for him and his security escorts.
This only proves that Bombo Radyo has fully supported Adonis and his co-accused in this case. It is not true that Bombo Radyo abandoned Adonis in his case. On the contrary, it was Adonis who abandoned Bombo Radyo without a trace when he went on absence without official leave (AWOL) sometime in December 2005. This he did after dragging the network into immeasurable inconvenience brought about by court litigation.
