Election’s deputization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,
including Bantay nominee Jovito Palparan and former PNP chief Arturo
Lomibao, in tomorrow’s elections in thirteen towns in Lanao del Sur.

What is Palparan doing in Lanao?

Bayan Muna Rep. Teodoro Casi?o, whose group was the alleged target of killers allegedly let loose by Palparan when he was still a general, said this morning that Palparan is in Lanao del Sur and wondered what the infamous general was doing there. "He should keep his hands off the special elections there," Casi?o said, referring to the special elections to be held tomorrow in more than a dozen areas in Lanao del Sur, where fraud have allegedly been rampant.

Total gun ban in Davao Sur; more troops eyed

?Anyone brandishing a firearm and is not a member of the armed forces or of the police will be arrested," Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who chairs the Regional Peace and Order Council, said today. "And if that someone is a bodyguard of a politician, the politician will be arrested as well,? he said. ?This is how we will do it, we just have to be really firm in applying the law and protecting the people.?
