Pablo relief mission stranded due to military harassment

Missioners were already on their way back to the town center from Sitio Limot in Barangay Binondo, the site of their relief mission, when their contingent met a roadblock allegedly set up by members of the Philippine Army’s 67thInfantry Battalion. The missioners are forced to spend the night in Sitio Cabuyao Nursery, Barangay Binondo in Baganga, the site of the infamous “Baganga Massacre” that killed three children in August 2002 when military allegedly strafed a house of the resident where members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were believed to be staying.

More irregularities in DSWD rehab for Pablo victims raised

SALIGUMBA Davao Today Romulo Serot and his son Remly, volunteers of the DSWD’s cash-for-work program after they lost their house, were surprised to learn that they received an amount lower than what the department’s liquidation report posted. What appalled them more was someone else signed the job orders for them.

Among mga kayutaaan na-bar down na. Ang kabukiran nanga-opaw na tungod sa pagpangawkaw sa mga dagkong kompanya sa logging (What will happen to us now? Our lands have been destroyed, our mountains denuded by these big logging companies).”
