NPA’s Parago declares 5 Army men as Prisoners of war

The NPA said their “active counter-intelligence and subsequent operations” were meant to punish AFP units, especially the Civil Military Operations Battalion headed by Maj. Jake Obligado, for continuing to “encroach, settle and conduct psychological warfare and intelligence operations” in the villages of Paquibato District.

Army says 5 soldiers are now NPA captives

Captain Raul Villegas, public affairs officer of the 10th ID, said that Corporal Emmanuel Quezon; Privates First Class Ronald Gura, Bernie Padilla and Donato Estandia; and Private Marteniano Pasiagas Jr. were allegedly taken by the New People’s Army (NPA) under Leoncio ‘Ka Parago’ Pitao on Monday afternoon in Sitio Lubas, Paquibato Proper village in Paquibato District.

NPA releases proof of confiscated rifles, ammo from security agency

In their earlier statement, the NPA said they confiscated one M4 5.56 automatic rifle, three Baby armalite rifles, two M16 armalite rifles, two 12-gauge shotguns, ammunition, ammunition magazine and vests and bulletproof vests.

NPA claims raid, ambush in Southern Philippines

Sanchez said the raid in Tagum City as well as the ambush of government troops in both Tagum and Mawab town “is in line with the call of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines to intensify tactical offensives in order to seize more weapons and create more units of the People’s Army.”

Lost names, vote-buying in Paquibato

In a statement released Monday, Ka Simon Santiago, NPA political director, said four village captains in Paquibato district “surrendered” to them and reported of receiving money from re-electionist Representative Mylene Garcia.  In Mapula village, 27 envelopes with PHP 300 each were allegedly seen, PHP 15,000 in Lumiad village, PHP 20,000 in Paquibato village and PHP 15,000 in Panalum village.
