Pagasa: Rainy days over Visayas, Mindanao until Wednesday

Aug. 04, 2015

DAVAO CITY – Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that most parts of Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the Inter-tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

PAGASA weather forecaster Shaira Nonot said, “the ITCZ affecting Visayas and Mindanao is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia and is considered a breeding ground for low-pressue areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.”

However, she clarified that other parts of the country, “will be having fair weather or partly cloudy to cloudy skies except for isolated thunderstorms.”

She said that PAGASA will continue to monitor a tropical storm outsider the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) which is expected to enter the -country this Wednesday, August 5.

The tropical cyclone will be named “Hanna” once it enters the PAR. (davaotoday.com)
