DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Mayor Sara Duterte has ordered the creation of the Local Zoning Review Committee which will be responsible for the “efficient and effective implementation” of the city’s development plans, programs, objectives, and priorities.

Created by virtue of Executive Order No. 24, the committee underscores the  task to determine the necessary revisions to the zoning ordinance as introduced in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

In a City Information Office dispatch on Wednesday, Nov. 16, it said the committee is mandated to identify provisions of the ordinance that are difficult to enforce or were unworkable, with the purpose of recommending revisions to the Sangguniang Panglungsod and the city’s planning office.

The said committee will be composed of the heads of the Davao City Planning and Development Coordinator’s Office, Davao City Health Officer, Davao City agriculturist, Davao City Engineer’s Office, and the Davao City Environment and Natural Resources Office.

Other members of LZRC are the Davao City School Superintendent, President of Association of Barangay Captains, representatives of the City Chamber of Commerce, Housing Industry and Homeowner’s Associations/Urban Poor Community Associations, and two representatives from nongovernment organizations considered by the CPDO.
