Tagum’s business permit procedure cited in eGov awards

TAGUM CITY, Philippines — The city government of Tagum bagged  3rd Place in the Best in Business Empowerment Award, Government to Business Category (G2B) during this year’s 5th eGov Awards for Excellence in ICT for Good Governance for Local Government Units.

Tagum’s entry is the Continued Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Innovations for a More Effective and Efficient Business Permit and Licensing Procedure.

In a city information office dispatch Wednesday, Tagum is the only local government unit based in Mindanao to be included in the top three, which includes Marikina City and Legazpi City as 1stplace and 2nd place, respectively.

The was conferred by the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines,  Department of Interior & Local Government during the 5th eGov Awards for the Local Government Unit last Nov. 11, 2016 held at Patio Victoria, San Jose, Tacloban City.

The eGov Awards is the first and most prestigious recognition to be given by the ICT sector to LGUs with exemplary performance in empowering its Public Customers and Businesses. Last year, the City Government of Tagum had won the 2nd place in G2B Category. (davaotoday.com)
