The Philippine government and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines sign on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 the ground rules for the meeting of the reciprocal working committees on social and economic reforms. The ground rules is seen to aid the acceleration of the discussion and negotiations on the Comprehensive Agreement on Social and Economic Reforms that seeks to address the roots of the armed conflict.

The Philippine government peace panel will request the US government to delist National Democratic Front of the Philippines chief political consultant from its terror list. The announcement was made by GRP peace panel chairperson Silvestre Bello III in Rome, Italy on Jan. 24, 2017.
