DAVAO CITY — The AniBina Bulawanon Festival Agri-Trade and Tourism Fair 2007 reaped P1 million in sales, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Compostela Valley Project Office revealed.
The Anibina Trade Fair, held at the Capitol Site in Brgy. Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province staged from March 1 to 8, was one of the continuing activities of the Anibina Festival.
Based on the report of DTI-ComVal, the total sales amounted to P1,101,547.65, slightly higher from 2006 figure of P1,017,489.50.
Of this amount, P611,447.50 accounted for cash sales, P390,050.00 for booked sales, and P100,050.00 worth of sales which are still under negotiation.
According to DTI-CV project head Eulogio Orevillo, this reflects the sustained success of the trade fair, which is being conducted annually since 1998, and the continuing patronage of Comvaleños to the Anibina Festival celebrations.
This year’s AniBina Trade Fair was participated by 53 establishments composed of agri-based producers, food processors, wood and bamboo furniture maker, fashion accessories, gift toys and house wares, handicrafts makers, ornamental plants, tourism resort and food establishments.
The top-grosser are the CVPCOW Entrepreneurs Cooperative for the manufacturing category together with TSR Furniture & Marketing; LGU-Monkayo for agri-based category; Yu Diet Flower Garden for the flower and ornamental category; and Emma’s Fastfood for the food establishments.
In the ‘Best-Dressed Booth’ competition, Gina Asidoy’s Woodcraft garnered the first prize in the Manufacturing category. Toyuzu Inland Resort got the same award for Tourism category and LGU Monkayo for the LGU category. Overall, the Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) got the ‘Best-Dressed Booth’ award for a record of four straight years.
Jheline Joyce Garden, on the other hand, was chosen as the ‘Best in Landscape for Ornamental Plants’ for three straight years now. (DTI)
