TAGUM CITY—Police authorities and anti-narcotics agents raided a suspected drug den in Purok Anahaw, Timog Avenue in the Visayan Village, this city which resulted in the arrest of three persons.
The suspects were identified as Nikki Secote, alias Abing, 20; Dave Polistico, 21; and Nap Abengoza, alias Bom-Bom, 23. All are residents of Visayan Village, Tagum City in Davao del Norte.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11 Director Emerson Rosales said the operation was conducted with a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Virginia Tehano-Ang of the Regional Trial Court 11th Judicial Region, Branch 1, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
The subject of the arrest order – Arnold Lim alias Jerry – was not around during the raid. Lim is the alleged owner of the illegal drug facility.
Rosales said the three suspects were nabbed at 2:00 am Wednesday. Seized from suspects were one plastic sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, and various drug paraphernalia.
According to Rosales, Secote, Polistico and Abengoza will be facing multiple charges for violating Article II of Republic Act 9165, specifically Sections, 7 (Visitors of a Drug Den), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia ) and 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs).
A case for violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den) will still be filed in court against Lim who is at large, said Rosales.
It can be recalled that earlier on November, Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon had warned drug lords operating in the city to leave or they will face jail time.
This was confirmed also by former Tagum Mayor Rey Uy’s pronouncement that “Tagum is now a shabu hub”.
Meanwhile, Tagum Police Chief PSUPT Solomon de Castilla appealed anew for public help in their anti-drug campaigns, saying “we couldn’t do this alone that’s why we need help from the concerned people of Tagum.” (davaotoday.com)
