Davao City is again considered as a finalist to the 2014 Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities after being awarded with a Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance Monday.
The award was presented by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) to City administrator J. Melchor V. Quitain.
The seal recognizes the city’s commitment in promoting children’s rights to survival, development, protection and participation.
The child-friendly seal was launched by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to promote the need to protect children’s rights among provinces, cities, and municipalities. (davaotoday.com)
