DAVAO CITY – It’s better late than never for Vice President Jejomar Binay said the militant youth group Anakbayan on his breaking away from the administration.
The Anakbayan released a statement Thursday to comment that Binay’s decision “confirms the growing unpopularity of Aquino and the strong demand for accountability and change.”
“Binay realized that his ratings will continue to slide down if he continues to be allied with the corrupt, anti-people, massacre-prone administration,” said Anakbayan chairperson, Vencer Crisostomo.
“Binay must come clean and fully expose the Aquino administration’s corrupt acts. Despite the spins and gimmicks, the Palace can no longer hide the fact that at this point, Aquino’s endorsement is kiss of death,” said Crisostomo.
Crisostomo said the elections will be about “reversing the anti-people policies implemented by the Aquino administration, which brought about greater poverty and hardships for the Filipinos.”
The group believes that candidates must demand accountability from the Aquino administration. (davaotoday.com)
