Today’s View: Of tragedies and treacheries

PAGUSARA Davao Today It was tagged as the Jabidah Massacre, where several Muslim youths, mostly Tausog, were recruited and underwent military training.  They were promised a bright tomorrow.  But they were mercilessly murdered by the trainer-soldiers of Marcos.  It was alleged that they were trained for a “secret plan” which later came to be divulged as having to do with the Philippine claim to Sabah.

Today’s View: A question of patriotic fealty

PAGUSARA Davao Today As a Filipino, it is our patriotic duty to abide by the Sultan who has pursued the claim not only for the Sultanate but ultimately for the Philippine State.  We cannot just leave him and our other Filipino compatriots at the mercy of a foreign government who has shown no respect for human rights, indiscriminately brutalizing Filipinos in the area.

Today’s View: Bias Begets Arrogance Begets Irrationality

By DON PAGUSARA Davao Today And when the real facts as they happened did not conform with the exactitude of his plans, his fascistic nature as a patronizing authority figure surfaced. He was afraid the media was bound to gather the real facts from the ground. And this gave vent to his arrogant posturing and unreasonable utterances.

Today’s View: What needs to be done

By DON PAGUSARA Davao Today The tenacious alignment and adherence to a political entity should have been premised on a set of ideals and principles that provide firm basis for the party platform and concrete plans of action.  Each of the candidates in such group subscribes to these ideals and principles as his (her) personal commitment and as his (her) standard of conduct in governance.  It is the only enduring beacon that the party and its candidate must hold on to in steering their campaign to victory.
