An official of the MGB Region 11 said Davao City only supplies materials for the mining industry and is not dependent on it.
The City Engineer’s Office here said that high-rise buildings in the city are earthquake-ready, pointing out that these buildings could withstand a 7.0 magnitude quake.
"Due to persistent rains prevailing in the City of Davao, the Office of the President ordered the cancellation of classes on all public and private primary and secondary levels today," the message reads.
