The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) appealed to the public to provide more food provision, water and volunteers to help out in quelling the grassfire in Mt. Apo.
The Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) passed a resolution on Thursday, March 31 to indefinitely close Mt. Apo from trekkers after a grass fire razed the peak of the mountain.
In clearing Mt. Apo fire, the Philippine Air Force Davao admitted they are having difficulty in pushing through with their “bambi bucket operation” due to the weather condition and water shortage.
An Army official reported on Monday, March 28 that the large portion of the fire in the country’s highest peak is located within the side of North Cotabato.
The Central 911 here has been ordered to respond to the massive fire in Mt. Apo that has reportedly affected more than 100 hectares of forest cover.
