CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – The number of persons showing symptoms of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) has decreased, local health authorities said Thursday (Apr. 2).

Dr. Lorraine Nery, acting City Health Officer, said the city has 35 persons under investigation (PUIs) with 32 who already completed quarantine while three are still under isolation.

The city has 1,257 persons under monitoring (PUMs) with 1,198 who already finished quarantine, 39 under isolation, and 17 expected to complete yesterday.

Nery said the PUIs and PUMs are required to report to the health centers in their respective barangays for the issuance of certificate of completion, which she will sign.

Meanwhile, Dr. Jose Chan, chief of the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), said three COVID-19 positive patients were admitted at the state-run hospital.

One patient, a native of Lanao del Sur, was discharged after her confirmatory test result came out negative. The said patient was with her family when she was intercepted by personnel of the region’s Department of Health (DOH-10) at the Laguindingan Airport on March 13. She was declared a PUI in Pasig City. Her husband and daughter were put under quarantine at NMMC.

The other two patients, Chan shared, show no symptoms of COVID-19. They are just waiting for their test result. The three are all healthy, Chan said.

In its April 1 advisory, DOH-10 said there are 307 PUIs and 4,350 PUMs in the region.

Of the 307, 49 are currently admitted, 77 are under home quarantine, 133 have completed the quarantine, and 40 have been discharged. Eight PUIs have died.

The department said 4,207 PUMs have completed their quarantine while 143 have subjected themselves to self-isolation.

Meanwhile, Bukidnon has 680 PUMs, 69 PUIs, and zero positive case; Camiguin has 166 PUMs, seven PUIs, and zero positive; Lanao del Norte has 513 PUMs, 24 PUIs, and one positive; Misamis Occidental has 803 PUMs, 80 PUIs, and one positive; and Misamis Oriental has 1,160 PUMs, 377 PUIs, and zero positive.
