DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Paglaum Ecology Network (PEN), a group composed of parishes, schools, youth groups, and non-government environmental organizations, will conduct an Interfaith Ecological Youth Congress on September 17-18 at the Parish Pastoral Center of the Redemptorists.

With the theme “Panaghiusa sa mga Kabatan-onan alang sa Pag-amoma sa Kinaiyahan”, the two-day event hopes to encourage the youth to become active environmentalists by discussing pressing environmental issues in Mindanao, among others, like the Waste-to-Energy incinerator project, Tampakan-Sagittarius Mines, Inc. and Mati mining projects, and the Davao-Samal Bridge project.

Participants will be coming from the Redemptorist Youth Ministry, Paglaum volunteers, Assumption College of Davao (ACD), MariKnows Philippines, Assumption Polytechnic College of Southern Mindanao, Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability, Masipag Mindanao, and Ateneo de Davao University.
