Nov. 20, 2015

DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office urged the public not to share in the social media video footage of persons of interest, the police term for suspects, related to the November 18 explosion at Ecoland.

In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz, spokesperson of the DCPO said sharing the video “might hamper the investigations.”

“Let us wait for the final of the investigation before releasing any videos/documents.  Ergo, it could possibly ruin the operations and investigation,” Driz said.

The passenger operated by UV Express left Pikit, North Cotabato at 5:00 am. The explosion injured the van conductor identified as Tata Basañez who sustained injuries in the head and his right shoulder.

Investigators are still determining the persons and the motive behind the incident.

Authorities here also organized a task group to probe into the bomb explosion.

The eight-person investigation group is headed by Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao, director of the Davao City Police Office with officers from the Investigation and Detective Management Branch of the DCPO, Regional Crime Laboratory Office, Anti-Cybercrime Unit, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Intelligence Unit, Talomo Police Precinct and the Public Information Office of the DCPO.

The initial post blast investigation recovered several shrapnels of a 60 millimeter-mortar round which wounded the victim and destroyed the vans rear seats and glass windows.
