Zamboanga Sibugay canvassers face raps for vote-padding

Bayan Muna today filed charges of “electoral sabotage” against the provincial canvassers of Zamboanga Sibugay over the alleged padding of votes in favor of pro-administration partylist groups Uni-Mad and Coop-Natco.

Opposition bets, Kalahi win in Davao

Candidates for the Genuine Opposition dominated the senatorial elections in Davao City, with seven of them ending up in the top 12. Only three of the administration’s Team Unity ticket — Joker Arroyo, Edgardo Angara and Juan Miguel Zubiri — won. In the partylist elections, it seems the machinery of Lakas stalwart Rep. Prospero Nograles worked in ensuring that the Kalahi partylist, of which his son Karlo is the second nominee, take the top spot.
