Arroyo spreads ‘red carpet’ in New Zealand


MANILA — Protests over human rights abuses await Philippine president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in the Australian cities of Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne from May 29-31, according to the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan. The announcement came after protests hounded Arroyo in her New Zealand visit.
?The Philippines is a disaster area for human rights," Green Party Foreign Affairs spokesman Keith Locke says. "Arroyo should be urged to stop the political carnage that she is currently condoning.?
MANILA, Philippines — A Filipino trade unionist will be protesting in a cage against the Filipino President on the steps of Parliament today at 12.30pm in Wellington as the President attends a state lunch in her honor, says the National Distribution Union.

Bayan Muna aired this message to the electorate today, the last day of
the 90-day campaign for partylist aspirants, as it expressed
confidence that Filipino voters will give it a third-straight mandate
