DAVAO CITY ? Nearly ten days before the implementation of RA 9372 also known as the Human Security Act (HSA) , youth and students are joining with other progressive forces calling to scrap the said law which would only set precedent for more anti-student policies.

Bayan Muna urged here today the City Council of Davao to join the people?s protest against the implementation of the Anti-terror Law or the Human Security Act saying ?the members of the City Council are all bound to safeguard the fundamental rights of the people and to uphold the supreme worth of democracy.?
DAVAO CITY — “We appeal and call the attention of the upper house in the senate as well as lawmakers in the Congress to question the Human Security Act in the Supreme Court, as these unlawful and inhuman law approved by Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as this was set to be implemented this coming July 15, 2007 after she signed it last March 2007,” Abubakar Uy said Suara Bangsamoro Secretary General in Southern Mindanao Region.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will convene a Mindanao Peace and Security Summit next week to strengthen the government's anti-terrorism measures and discuss the problems stakeholders would face in implementing them.
