The Kalikasan People’s Network for the Environment (Kalikasan PNE) hit the recent Supreme Court decision that approved the operation of the coal-fired power plant in Subic, Zambales.
The 13-0 ruling overturned the Court of Appeals decision that stopped the coal-fired power plant of Redondo Peninsula Energy Inc. (RP Energy).
Kalikasan PNE coordinator Clemente Bautista said the decision “is appalling” in spite of the rejection made by residents and even local government units.
The group was one of the petitioners of the Writ of Kalikasan against the 600-megawatt Subic coal-fired power plant.
