NPAs attack Army patrol base in Paquibato

DAVAO CITY — The New People’s Army attacked an Army patrol base in Paquibato district here on Saturday morning.

Captain Rhyan Batchar, chief of the Army’s Public Affairs Office said a 20-minute exchange of gunfires ensued when NPA fighters harassed a CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) Patrol Base of the 72nd Infantry Battalion at Sitio Ipil in Barangay Sumimao.

He said the NPAs are members of the Pulang Bagani Company of the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee.

Batchar said there was no casualty from their troops during the incident. The soldiers are now conducting checkpoint and pursuit operations to track down the NPAs. (davaotoday.com)
