DAVAO CITY – The postal union, Kapisanan ng mga Kawani ng Koreo sa Pilipinas (KKKP), mourned the passing of its founder and labor leader Democrito Mendoza, who died Tuesday evening.

KKKP is the first registered postal service employees union of the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) founded in 1973.

KKKP President Alvin Fidelson said that in spite of his many accomplishments,  old and new generation of labor leaders will always recognize Mendoza’s humility and kind heart.

“All of his life were spent in the labor movement, and we surely missed him”, he said.

The 92-year-old leader was known as one of the founding fathers of the labor movement in the Philippines, pioneering the creation of labor centers in Quezon City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Davao City. (davaotoday.com)
