Zero casualty after Onyok in Region 11

DAVAO CITY – The Office of the Civil Defense-XI reported zero casualties as tropical depression Onyok made landfall in the region last December 18.

Onyok entered Mindanao through the boundaries of the Davao Oriental towns of Caraga and Manay and affected several nearby municipalities in Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley.

A Philippine Information Agency dispatch said OCD-XI Regional Director Liza Mazo activated the Incident Command System and the Regional Incident Management System of the region on December 19.

By December 20, Onyok downgraded into a Low Pressure Area and dissipated the threat in the region.

Planning Section Chief Eric Colmenares of the Department of Science and Technology-XI presided the close-out meeting, along with Colonel Rocky Binag, Tactical Operations Group XI-Philippine Air Force and Dir. Liza Mazo. At 3:00 p.m. of December 20, the Regional Incident Command Team has officially demobilized.(davaotoday.com)
