Student journalists and media practitioners in Davao City attended an ethics workshop organized by the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP), in partnership with UNESCO and DavaoToday.com. The training aims to strengthen participants' understanding of core journalism principles, including truth-telling, fairness, independence, accountability and responsible reporting. The workshop draws from the union's updated Journalist's Code of Ethics and addresses contemporary challenges such as political pressure, disinformation, digital and social media reporting, conflict-sensitive journalism and the ethical coverage of marginalized communities. Organizers also emphasized the importance of partnering with journalism schools to instill ethical practices early in students' careers. See less
