The mammoth crowd on Friday reminiscent of the 1986 people power rallies was another “nail in the coffin of the mayoralty candidacy” of Speaker Prospero Nograles and the congressional bid of his son Karlo, according to a press statement from the Hugpong sa Katawhang Lungsod.
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Hugpong vice-mayoralty candidate, told the Mirror that “the motorcade participants came from all walks of life, people in the streets were like participating (in a) victory.”
Duterte and his daughter, mayoralty candidate Vice Mayor Sara Duterte, led the parade for Liberal Party standard bearer Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino and vice-presidential candidate Mar Roxas. Continue reading
