Philippines: Pacquiao Says He Will Respect Outcome of Elections

GENERAL Santos City Congressional bet Manny Pacman Pacquiao said that he will respect the outcome of the May 14 elections after signing the covenant last Wednesday here at the Sanguniang Panglungsod session hall.

Pacquiao of the Kampi Party signed the covenant for a peaceful elections.

Commission on Elections Region 12 Director Michael Abbas, Commissioner Romeo Brawner, Comelec South Cotabato provincial election supervisor Atty. Lilian Suan-Radam and City Election officer Atty. Jose Villanueva witnessed the signing.

Pacquiao, who knocked out Mexican Jorge Solis in the 8th round last April 14 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, signed it after coming from a long motorcade that started from the Oval Plaza covered court here going to the towns of Polomolok, Tupi and Tampakan.

The covenant was also signed by Custodio of the Achievement with Integrity Movement (AIM) Party and mayoralty bet Shirlyn Baas-Nograles of the local Lakas-NUCD party.

Nograles, who is pitted against incumbent Mayor Pedro Acharon of AIM and former mayor Rosalita Nuez of Kampi, said that she is supporting Pacquiao for congressman..

Masaya naman ako na ako ang pinili niya, Pacquiao said.

He vowed not to disappoint all his supporters and promised to work for good governance and to bring in investors and projects in the first district of South Cotabato.

Pacquiao agreed to sign the covenant for he promised not to corrupt the voters with money and not to impose our will upon him by way of force or violence, threat or intimidation or in any manner destroy of his power and freedom of choice.

Sport lang at walang personalan, Pacquiao told his political rivals.

Pacquiao, who led the caravan of the senatorial bets from the Team Unity around the city, said that he will abide with the Comelecs order not to give money as dole outs or balato to his fans and supporters. (PROMPTERS) davaotoday.com
