Davao radio union wins CBA, lifts strike

By JOHN RIZLE SALIGUMBA Davao Today RDEU, an affiliate of the militant National Federation of Labor Unions and Kilusang Mayo Uno, hailed the strike as pivotal to the resolution of the labor dispute saying that the “weight of workers’ strike (is) a valid and only option to defend the workers” interest, especially with the current “rampant wage freeze and wage hike moratorium among the yellow traditional labor unions.”

Going bananas in reg’l devt gab

By ALEX D. LOPEZ Davao Today Davao is considered low in rice sufficiency level, with palay production lessened at an average of 3.5 percent yearly from 2005 to 2010. In contrast, production of Cavendish bananas increased to over 2.8 million metric tons with a growth rate of 14.3 percent in the last four years.

Controversial provision of EO on mining hit
