Lumad visitors sleep in sidewalks, ‘shelters’ not enough

Lumads, including women and children, from Davao City countrysides and other areas who are now in the city to hop households to ask for “Christmas gifts”have been sleeping in sidewalks as their number exceeded the capacity of gymnasium shelter areas designated by the City government.

Globe telecommunications partners with the Foundation for the Philippine Environment, donating mobile phones, SIM cards and insurance policies to 42 volunteer forest guards and local watershed monitoring, including barangay officials to guard biodiversity initiatives in the Panigan-Tamugan watershed.
