DAVAO CITY – Around 793,000 households in the region are targeted to be listed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the national demographic household survey for poverty reduction (NHTS-PR) or Listahanan.
The agency has started reviewing the list of beneficiaries for the government’s conditional cash transfer (CCT) program, otherwise known as the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps).
DSWD-Davao Director Priscilla Razon said that 20 percent of this number will come from Davao City. She also said that they have already deployed 2,000 enumerators in different rural areas.
“There is a higher number in Davao del Sur because it has 15 municipalities. Followed by ComVal, (Davao) Oriental,” Razon said.
Razon said that they are expecting to finish reviewing the “Listahanan” after two months.
After which, they will have to validate the data and post it in different barangays and other strategic locations.
“We need to post it so that people will know that these are the members of the community that were enumerated,” she said.
Razon also said that they are confident that the enumeration in Davao City will start this month, once the 500 tablets arrive.
Meanwhile, the modified cash transfer (MCT) program for indigenous people (IP) is still ongoing.
Razon said they have validated additional 200 IPs from Marilog and Talaingod.
“We have regular IPs receiving the CCT, but with the modified cash transfer we are focusing on the IPs, then we are adding more IPs to avail of the conditional cash transfer,” she said.
Around 30,000 IPs were enumerated for the MCT program, mostly from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA).
“Validation of the 30,000 IPs is still ongoing. At least by the third quarter we have already started with the provision of interventions for them,” Razon said.(davaotoday.com)
