Press release
20 March 2013
Two sets of 15-minute switching power interruptions will take place on March 24, Sunday, affecting customers in the northern area of Davao Light and Power Company’s franchise.
Ross Luga, Communication Officer, said that the scheduled outages are necessary to conduct relocation of poles and guyings to facilitate the road widening project of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
To keep power interruptions at its barest minimum, transferring of loads will be made. This will take place from 5:00 AM to 5:15 AM and from 7:00 AM to 7:15 AM for the normalization.
Affected by these service disruptions are those along Ilang, from Tefasco to Nuestra SRA del Pilar Chapel. This includes portion of Ilang Wharf, road to Minterbro, Purok San Ignacio Indangan, Purok San Roque Indangan, Mudiang Bunawan District, Upper and Central Ilang, and Ilang Riverside.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience of these scheduled power interruptions. But, it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
Davao Light’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition remotely controls switches in substations and along the distribution lines. Hence, maintenance works and restoration of power supply are implemented at the barest minimum.
