DAVAO CITY – In drumming up the significance of the month-long celebration for the Filipino womenfolk, various activities have been prepared.
Activities include Women Summit hosted by the Integrated Gender and Development Division (IGDD), LGU Davao City with its theme, Madasigong Paglihok Alang sa Kauswagan ug Kaangayan.
IGDD will also lead the Early Morning Walk on March 7.
The DSWD Field Office and its Home for Girls and Women have posted event streamers and conducted announcements to its workers as well as to the local social welfare offices throughout the region.
DSWD will also treat its women staff to a free foot massage, manicure and pedicure on March 28th following a brief Orientation on Sustaining Health During Stress Time.
On March 7, the residents of the DSWD Home for Girls and Women will participate in a lecture on Migration and Trafficking in Person, and Violence Against Women and Children.
Further, the 230 Davao City Pantawid Pamilya Parent Leaders will hold a General Assembly where Women’s Rights and Laws will be discussed and entertaining talents will be showcased.
The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) spearheads the national observance of Women’s Month with the theme, Juana, Ang Tatag Mo ay Tatag Natin sa Pagbangon at Pagsulong!
This year’s celebration pays tribute to the strong and resilient “Juanas” who brought inspiring changes in the country and abroad. It underscores the contribution of women in the initiatives for healing and recovery from disaster incidents and scandals that hit the country. Moreover, it showcases the inspiring resiliency of women in the face of adversity and uncertainty.
PCW have organized events such as short film making contest, opening salvo, uploading of campaign streamers in social media pages, online campaign threads, and information dissemination on various women issues.
