DAVAO CITY—Panabo City’s police force has acquired a brand new car.
“The arrival of the new patrol car is very timely, and can sevice us during the elections,” said PSupt. Alexander Serrano Jr. right after the simple turn-over ceremonies in front of the city’s new city hall.
The new vehicle is a Toyota Hilux pick up priced at 1.3 million pesos. 950,000 pesos of the funds used for its purchase came from the first district congressional office, headed by Congressman Antonio F. Lagdameo, Jr., while the city shouldered the remaining 350,000 pesos.
Serrano said that, with the brand new patrol car, the police could react on time even with limited personnel and the distance from the new station of the Philippine National Police (PNP). He was also grateful not only to the local government unit (LGU) and congressional office for their support, but also to the help of the organized radio groups Recon Enterprise, Urgent, Recon Valiant and Pare, led by Dennis Develleres and other Panaboans for their information/report and surveillance on any suspected criminal or illegal activities. Serrano said that, at present, Panabo is very peaceful and more manageable and that the PNP is on top of the situation. (CIO Panabo)
