DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Police Regional Office in Davao region said they are still in high moral despite the negative criticisms they received because of their anti-illegal drug campaign.
“We could not eliminate from the people to have negative perception against us since death toll continues to rise because of the police drug operations,” Chief Insp. Andrea Dela Cerna, spokesperson of PRO XI said in a news conference Thursday.
A total of 753 personalities and 86 individuals have been “neutralized” as a result of legitimate anti-illegal drug operations, the police said.
Dela Cerna said criticisms are unavoidable as the police continue to intensify their illegal drug operations under Oplan Tokhang.
The police searched 7,121 houses and had 47,619 drug users and 2,199 drug pushers voluntarily surrender as of October.
“The Philippine National Police (PNP) will not stop until we entirely eliminate the number of drug users and pushers here in the country,” Dela Cerna said. (davaotoday.com)
