The 17th Asia Pacific Military Medicine Conference Opens Today
The 17th Asia Pacific Military Medicine Conference opens today for a 5-day conference from 16 to 20 April 2007 at the Shangri-la Hotel, Makati City with a total of 300 service delegates from 19 Asia-Pacific countries.
The conference is sponsored jointly by the Armed Forces of the Philippines through the Office of the surgeon General (OTSG and the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC). The APMMC is an annul event co-hosted by USARPAC with the participation of nations in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference consists of a balanced program of presentations challenging the participants to learn and work together in providing the best heath care possible to members of their respective militaries.
The 17th APMMC is part of a continuing series of conferences for military medical professionals in the Asia-Pacific region promoting cooperation and a collegial fraternity to advance health care for the military. The exchange of information, though multiple venues, seeks to increase knowledge and understanding of medical professionals focusing on relevant military medical issues, concerns, and topics in comprehensive health services, clinical research, education, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention. The conference consists of a balanced program of presentations challenging the participants to learn and work together in proving the best health care possible to members of their respective militaries.
The theme of 17th APMMC is bridging Borders through Military Medicines where mutual interest in the exchange and sharing of military health experience are the goals of this conference. Topics of interest in military health services are presented during plenary session, breakout sessions, and poster board presentations.
