DAVAO TODAY POOLED REPORT

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – At exactly 7 AM, thousands of voters have already gone to their respective polling precincts here, only to encounter the same problems every election time.
At the Daniel R. Aguinaldo High School, for example, voters have complained of missing names but the Commission on Elections (Comelec) or any of its personnel was not immediately available to answer their query.

PO3 Mariscal from the Talomo Police Station said, “So far, wala pay samok og maayo ang paghan-ay sa mga boto, ang uban lang ang nangawala ang mga ngalan (So far, it’s peaceful though some voters complained of missing names).”

In Buhangin Central Elementary School, many voters were also not able to cast their votes by 9 AM.

Meanwhile, Neneng Lagana, a senior citizen, said “(M) as dali ra karon ang pagboto nga PCOS (precinct count optical scan) na ang gigamit kaysa una nga manual (The voting now is much faster compared to manual elections).”

However, in a number of polling centers, PCOS were reported to have malfunctioned.

According to poll watchdog Kontra Daya, machines in Panacan didn’t immediately turned on while those in Don Julian Elementary School in Agdao just shut down.

Some marking pens were also out of ink.

Violations

It was also observed that outside the polling centers in Juliville and Jade Valley Subdivision and in Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Elementary School, many campaigners were distributing sample ballots.  Along the Bacaca Road, supporters were not only handing out sample ballots, they are also wearing shirts that bear the name and face of an incumbent politician.

Bawal na ang maggamit ug magsuot og paraphernalia, on the election day. (Medel V.
