NDF to discuss workers’ complaints vs. ‘despotic’ companies

Aug. 11, 2008

The National Democratic Front (NDF) in southern Mindanao has received the complaints filed by the Revolutionary Council of Trade Unions (RCTU) in southern Mindanao against the Stanfilco-Dole Philippines, Lapanday, Fraklin Baker and the Davao City Water District (DCWD) for acts tantamount to economic sabotage and other serious violations of workers’ rights. It shall also include the same in the agenda in the next NDF’s regional council meeting.

The NDF-southern Mindanao has likewise received RCTU’s complaints against individuals like the Lorenzos of Lapanday, DCWD’s board chairman Atty. Eliseo Braganza, Jun Alcover and Chito Herbolingo of the National Alliance for Democracy, as well as the 10th infantry division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines for their outright attacks against the workers’ rights or for serving as mercenaries of the big landlord-compradors.

As an allied organization of the NDF, RCTU’s complaints shall be discussed in the regular meeting of the NDF. If the latter finds merit in the complaints, it will endorse the RCTU’s complaint to the proper revolutionary judicial organ for consideration and prompt action. It shall see to it that the provisions of the chapter 3 regarding revolutionary justice of the Guide to the establishment of the People’s Democratic Government shall be followed.

To protect the interest and welfare of the workers and their families, the NDF is committed to pursuing the whole process of revolutionary justice and securing a favorable outcome, especially in defeating counter-revolutionary measures of its class enemies in the midst of the intensifying armed revolution. #
