“Make Your Own Havaianas” has been a regular marketing event for this brand of flipflops all over the world. It was launched for the first time in Davao city in March.

For only 795 pesos per pair, clients get to choose the color of the sole they preferred (magenta was the leading preference over orange, lime green, brown, white, red, etc.) and match it with any strap (silver and gold were the favorites over lime green, brown, royal blue, light blue, yellow, baby pink, fuschia, white, etc.). Clients also picked any number of swarovski crystals at 50 pesos each and/or pins at 100 pesos each for their pair of personalized Havaianas. Among the pins, the Philippine flag was the favorite.

Using equipment flown in from Brazil, Nograles Havaiana outlet assembled the personalized pair in front of the waiting clients

Weeks before the event, bloggers were verifying details while enterprising businessmen were taking in orders from those who couldn’t make it to the event. Even the Havaianatics (havaianas fanatics) from Manila were talking about flying in!
