General Santos City — Task Group Law Enforcement made rounds in conflict areas in Cotabato Province to ensure that frontline police forces are fully geared up for any urgent call.
Task Force head deputy regional director for administration PCSupt. Felicisimo V. Khu Jr was joined by PSupt. Marcelo O. Pintac, chief of the regional Investigation and Detective Management Division in inspecting police camps in some troubled areas in Cotabato Province.
In his visit, Khu distributed additional subsistence allowance to police units including the 8th, 11th and 12th Regional Mobile Groups manning the strongpoint detachments in Bual, Tulunan, Bagontapay, and Brgy. Dalingaoen in Mlang; Camansi Junction, Barangiran and Lamoyon Junction in Alamada; Pagangan and Puypuyon in Aleosan; Kalacakan in Pikit; Manuangan and Bulucaoan in Pigcawayan; and Matibong in Libungan.
The allowance was meant to augment troops’ survival while in combat zone, police said.
Khu also updated the troops on police change of command with PCSupt. Fidel A. Cimatu Jr. as new Central Mindanao chief replacing PCSupt. Felizardo M. Serapio Jr. in turnover rites on November 15.
He told all police forces in the area “to be prepared for possible reshuffling of troops for a tighter perimeter security and defense.”
In addition to subsistence allowance, tasked units of the PNP Tactical Battalion also conducted simultaneous check points in critical areas.
No significant incidents were, however, reported despite intelligence reports that lawless MILF group (LMG) would stage violence in the province.
Police said conflict zones the PALMA-P (Pikit, Alamada, Libungan, Midsayap, Aleosan and Pigcawayan) is secured by peacekeeping units from the police and military deployed to maintain peace and order in the said contiguous barangays. (PIA SarGen/PRO 12)
