Alumni from all campuses of University of the Philippines (UP) in the country are encouraged to go hand-in-hand in the construction of UP Mindanao (UPMin) campus plaza as a form of homecoming on February 28 in culmination of its 20th year.

Roberto Puentespina, Jr., head of University of Mindanao Alumni Association (UPAA) Oblation Plaza Project, said the activity expects to gather around 1,000 UP alumni from other campuses into UPMin and together build the pavement of the inner circle of its oblation plaza.

The alumni are also urged to bring recyclable materials such as shampoo sachets and chip wrappers to be used as added materials for the paving blocks.

Around 35,000 paving blocks are expected to be produced by the alumni during the construction project.

The project is expected to be completed before the start of May 2015.
