DAVAO CITY, Philippines — A resort located in the city’s Baguio district will hold its first Halloween celebration Saturday, Oct. 29 in a bid to promote the Philippines beliefs and traditions.
Charisse Puentespina, managing director of the Malagos Garden Resort said the event dubbed “Mga Handuraw sa Baul: Philippine Music, Arts and Horror on All Hallow’s Eve” is in line with the company’s advocacy to “support local”.
The event will include the annual “Ngilngig” Film Festival, poetry reading, art symposium, raffle draw, and horror house.
Local artists are also set to perform including Davao’s very own Anne Mendoza, Chud Festejo, Kevin Becira and Manila-based beatmaker CRWN, together with hip-hop patriot, Curtismith.
The event will run 2 p.m to 11 p.m and a photo contest will also be co-presented by Davao Camera Club and a costume contest.
“We are looking forward to your support in this endeavor to expose young Davaoeños to the significance of Philippine Culture as we equip them with creative paradigms,” Puentespina said. (davaotoday.com)
