DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The country’s biggest construction and building event recently concluded its showcase of the innovation in interior design and construction as constructors keep pace with the government’s aggressive Build, Build, Build program.

The event was organized by Worldbex Service International (WSI) which said it wanted to bring innovation to the growth of Davao “as it conquers Davao region this time featuring Davao’s best”.

Jon Richmond S. Ang, marketing director of WSI told the Habi at Kape press conference last week that the event would have two sub-events, the Philippine Building and Construction Expo (PHILBEX) and Travel and Leisure Expo(TLEX).

Four countries, Singapore, China, Taiwan, and Vietnam, have participated to feature the best in their respective countries’ interior design.

The Philippines has showcased the best designs in the five regions, Mindanao, Cebu, Negros, Panay and Eastern Visayas, which have 300 booths and 170 exhibitors coming together to deliver the biggest edition of PHILBEX and TLEX Davao.

Along with exhibits were extensive line-up of travel agencies, airlines, hotels, resorts couriers, cruise lines, shipping, construction companies, local distributors, international suppliers and construction services firm building and designs.

According to Ang, this year “aims to Look for more innovation in terms of highlight trough the talks and seminar done and the product that will be feature during the event.”

“It aims to showcase the most outstanding innovations in the market an effort to raise the bars of excellence for the industry,” he added.

The advocacy “is to feature different design of all concept and the discussion of illegal practitioner of interior design,” he added.

The WSI has also targeting the schools to showcase their design and to feature in the exhibit the Davao artists and their work.

The Philippine Institute of Interior design (PIID) gave a lecture “the Bakwit Project” and “The Overview of the Practice and the Profession” to discuss the illegal practice as well as the future interior designer. (davaotoday.com)
