DAVAO CITY—A low pressure area (LPA) spotted some 2,000 kilometers (km) East of Southern Mindanao is expected to enter Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Sunday, state weather bureau PAG-ASA said Friday.
PAG-ASA said the low pressure area weather will bring scattered rains over Eastern Visayas and Mindanao as it moves west northwest.
In case it will upgrade into a tropical depression, PAG-ASA said, it will be named “Domeng” as the fourth cyclone to enter PAR this year.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) categorized the weather disturbance as tropical depression.
Meanwhile, PAG-ASA said in its recent weather bulletin issued Friday said that the entire archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
Light to moderate winds coming from the east to northeast will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the northeast over the rest of the country and the coastal waters will be slight to moderate. (davaotoday.com)
