DOST: Davao City should prepare for its own ‘Big One’

The city's own "Big One" could come in the form of a magnitude 7, intensity 8 earthquake due to its proximity to the Central Davao Fault System, which lies 7.1 km southwest from the center of Davao City, said Department of Science and Technology Undersecretary for Disaster Risk Reduction Renato Solidum, Jr.

Earthquake drill to test response capability, contingency plans of Davao City

The nationwide earthquake drill that will take place at 2 PM on Thursday, June 29 will test the readiness of the city government of Davao and its residents if the city is hit by a tremor with a magnitude of 7.1.
