ULAMA League of the Philippines regional chair Mahmoud Adilao called on his brother Muslim to vote wisely, be more vigilant, and help make the country move away from unresolved issues from the past elections.
Chairman Adilao also called on Muslim groups to help government in its effort to fight terrorism and make our community better place to live in.
He urged his Muslim brothers to help the administration in keeping a peaceful, clean and credible election and monitor the election process and help ensure a meaningful election.
He called on the Muslim community to do their positive share in providing a force that would ensure real integrity on the coming May polls.
Let us do our share in joining government and non-government organizations who have a common goal of having a credible election by way of educating our Muslim brothers adding that for those who are not registered voters should not go to any precinct or you may be misunderstood as flying voters, he said.
Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said that the poll body was able to de-list a total of 1.13-million unscrupulous voters, bringing down to 45.5-million the number of qualified voters for the May polls.
Comelec Commissioner Rena Sarmiento said a total of 6,059 names were de-listed from voters of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
In the last May 2004 elections, there were 100,000 people in the ARMM removed from the voters list. (PIA dispatch/rbpalacio)
