Comelec perpetually bars 18 political bets from Davao over poll campaign expenses

TAGUM CITY— Eighteen local candidates in Davao region are now perpetually barred from holding public office for failure to comply and submit their statements of election contributions and expenses (SOCE) for two or more elections, an official Comelec document showed.

The Commission on Elections’ Campaign Finance Unit has released a complete list of candidates clustered by region. Comelec said that candidates have violated Republic Act 7166 otherwise known as the “Synchronized National and Local Elections and for Electoral Reforms.” The law sets the limits of campaign-related expenses of candidates.

Below are the list of candidates in Davao region facing perpetual disqualification to hold public office in local level.

Compostela Valley

  2. Vedorin M. Takasan (Pantukan)

Davao del Norte

  1. Reynaldo P. Alba (Tagum)
  2. Rey B. Perez (Tagum)
  3. Larry P. Garcia (Panabo)

Davao del Sur

  1. Pablo C. Villaber
  2. Ronald L. Banac
  3. Kenn T. Lacia (Matanao)
  4. Cesar C. Puerto (Matanao)
  5. Tanada B. Pinto (Santa Cruz)
  6. Serafin D. Calnapat (Santa Maria)
  7. Leonardo Uy (Santa Maria)

Davao City

  1. Bernard S. Custodio – Sangguniang Panlungsod member/House of Representatives 1st Legislative District 2007-2010
  2. Anacleto B. Millendez
  3. Carlos J. Cirilio
  4. Rogelio A. Montajes
  5. Rogelio C. Paconla
  6. Rodrigo J. Sulamin

 

The poll body said that the list covers only local elections and another list will be released soon which will contain the names of candidates perpetually barred from holding public in the national government. The Comelec said the list, which was released last Friday, is not yet final.(davaotoday.com)
